Tadeusz and Marie Kublicki, Founders

Tadeusz Kublicki (1919-2015) was a native of Poland who studied architecture in Paris, France and chose Los Angeles as his home in the 1950s.  Marie Kublicki (1930-2017) was a native of France and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1960s after marrying Tad.  Among Tad’s many projects during his long architectural career, he designed and built their first rental property in 1964, a single family modernist hillside home in Los Angeles.  They jointly managed their growing family of rental properties themselves until hiring a general manager in the early 1990s.  Unlike many real estate investors who choose properties based only on numbers, Tad and Marie only purchased buildings “that they liked and that spoke to them”.  In 1998, Israel’s Yad Vashem Foundation awarded Tad its Righteous Gentile Award for hiding a Jewish woman during the Nazi occupation of Poland in World War II.

Nicolas Kublicki, President

Nick Kublicki is a native of Los Angeles.  He worked at the U.S. Department of Justice and practiced real estate law for ten years before leaving his law firm partnership and starting work at the company in 2004.  He took its helm upon his parents’ retirement in 2010.  Nick is a licensed California real estate broker and teaches real estate transactions law as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University School of Law.  As a tenant in two of the company’s buildings for fifteen years, Nick is particularly aware of and concerned with tenants’ needs.  His company philosophy is:  “We do not rent apartments.  We rent homes.”  Nick is married and has two daughters.

Dmitriy Zaretski, General Manager

Dmitriy Zaretski is a native of Belarus who came to the U.S. in 1995.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1998, serving in the First Light Armored Recon Battalion out of Camp Pendleton, California.  An Iraq War combat veteran, Dmitriy earned the rank of Sergeant, was awarded multiple citations, and served as a volunteer firefighter in the San Pasqual Fire Department (San Diego) before his honorable discharge in 2006.  He joined Kublicki Properties in 2006 and became General Manager in 2007.  Living in one of the company’s buildings for several years has made him particularly knowledgeable and responsive to tenants’ needs.  Dmitriy has one daughter.

"906 S. Wooster is the best building in which I have lived. Management is incredibly responsive and friendly. The building is maintained in a first-class manner. Any work to be performed by the landlord is completed promptly and professionally. The location is outstanding: great restaurants are just blocks away, and both La Cienega Park and the Beverly Hills Golden Triangle are within walking distance."
